Hello there!
My journey as a therapist has been shaped by a deep understanding of the emotional complexities associated with chronic illnesses. With lived experience, I know firsthand what it's like to live in survival mode and witness the devastation of my relationships due to being constantly ill. I remember what it feels like to not be truly seen by others in what felt like a never-ending battle against my own body. Thus, began my work supporting others to approach their lives with curiosity; build resilience, and emotional support, encourage self-advocacy, and improve their quality of life.
I take a holistic approach to therapy, considering the interplay between physical, emotional, and social aspects of health. This comprehensive perspective can contribute to a more well-rounded and effective path to managing chronic conditions. Nervous system dysregulation and stress are a part of the human experience, however, persistent dysregulation and stress can exacerbate symptoms of chronic illness and pain. The objective is not to eliminate your pain or cure your illness, but to acquire the skills to navigate these challenges, foster deeper connections in your relationships, and approach uncertainties and setbacks with confidence.
As a therapist, I am sex-positive and sex, gender, and sexuality-affirming. I approach clients with empathy and humility to support them in effectively increasing their capacities for awareness, regulation, and resilience. I am passionate about helping people strengthen their connections to themselves, their partners, and their families to increase emotional bonds and intimacy and form secure relationships.
I believe in the power of therapy to not only help individuals and couples cope but to thrive in the face of adversity.
Outside of the office, you can find me getting lost in a book with a cup of coffee, playing video games or board games with family and friends, or spending time outside soaking up the Colorado sunshine.
